<p>In this episode we talk about how periods and the hormonal fluctuations of our menstrual cycle impact our training, strength, energy and fatigue.&nbsp;<br><br>Tip or Trick: Life App to track cycles and symptoms&nbsp;<br><br>If you’re regularly training, you may even notice your energy, strength and/or endurance levels yo-yoing again and again.</p> <p>Well, you’re not alone – it’s normal and it’s all related to our menstrual cycles (I’m speaking specifically to pre-menopausal women).</p> <p>On the upside, you have days where you just CRUSH IT – you feel like superwoman – ready to take on the world or lift a car…&nbsp;</p> <p><em>SO</em> <em>here’s a bit of science about why, and tips for you to improve your training through your cycle</em>.</p> <p>A HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW OF WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR CYCLE AND EXERCISE…</p> <ul> <li>The menstrual cycle has a large influence on a female’s metabolic state and training.</li> <li>The follicular (Day 1-14) phase is when women should focus on progress. It’s characterized by a higher tolerance for pain and increasing levels of endurance.</li> <li>Insulin sensitivity is higher during the follicular phase.
